You take the low road, Apple takes the high road

BusinessWeek on Apple:  "In September, according to market researcher NPD Group, Macs accounted for 18.9% of all laptops and desktops sold in U.S. retail outlets. For computers priced above $1,000, Apple's share was an astonishing 89%."

Volume is one thing, but try to imagine how many $279.99 Netbooks you need to sell to generate the gross profit of just one $1,699 27" iMac.  A lot.  And which customer is more likely to willing and able to purchase a few hundred dollars worth of accessories with the PC?
